Phrases to drop or adopt

18. When you want to improve it means you want to prove yourself. You want to prove your worth, you want to prove your value. You want to be proven and a proven. The fastest way to be proven is through others, only others can prove to you you have improved. The speech and phrases you listen to and the speech and phrases that you use decide whether you can be proven or not.

Improve to prove yourself

To be improved you start by saying the words I am PROVEN. — IM PROVEN.

‘what is most important to me’

‘what are my values’, ‘what are my principles’

‘what am I thankful for’, ‘who listens to me’, ‘what is my purpose’ and there are many more even simpler. ‘What project is undone’ , ‘what project should I start’, ‘are my lists up to date’, and so on. These little restarts help, but the most important start is recognizing that the words are so confusing because we allow it. Each of us can un-tie from the false emotional attachment to words and realize they are symbols and sounds.

We make conscious decisions on the ‘importance’ of a word.

And that we attach value or importance to them. We make conscious decisions on the ‘importance’ of a word. We decide if a word should allow us to be enraged, or disappointed, or over joyed or some other emotion.

The word itself does not have any power. Only our mind can allow us to become emotional when we see or hear a word. A word is powerless without your assistance.

There is mega info available today on the history of the sounds we make, the symbols we use, the words we use, the phrases we use, the colors attached to shapes and sounds and a wealth more. Learn the importance of understanding and how to choose which words to say and which ones to listen to.

Conversation Tip #5: Avoid Closed-Loop Questions

Questions that can only be answered with “yes” or “no” are called closed-loop questions, because they close down the conversation.

Open loop questions work much better when your aim is to keep a conversation going.

Let’s look at the difference between these through a couple of examples.

Instead of asking the closed question “Do you like apple juice?”, ask the open question “What is your favourite type of juice?”

Or, instead of asking “Do you like spaghetti?”, you can ask “How often do you eat Italian food?”

Open-loop questions invite further discussion, whereas a “yes” or “no” question usually only invites an end to the conversation.

Now that you have the right mindset, let’s get into tips for having topics to talk about!
